Extensive retro-gaming inspired brand and ecommerce website overhaul for Tokyo-based game accessory retailer DELE.
In Detail
DELE is a Tokyo-based game accessory retailer which also produces its own line of products. In a push to reduce reliance and fees of third-party ecommerce platforms they commissioned us with the refresh their web presence with a new UI design for their ecommerce website. At the same time they requested a full brand revamp and extensive package of marketing tools. The full scope of project is the following:

The project kick-off started with a set of moodboards to gauge the general design direction and preferences. In the next step we created four identity design concepts including sample logos, color palette, font selection and additional branding elements. The selected direction was a video game inspired graphics concept with a touch of classic retro 8-bit design.
Also the three key visual illustrations we created are inspired by game design with the following topics:
- Enjoyment (receiving new game accessories)
- Gaming Connects (across various countries and hardware)
- Evolution, Innovation & Discovery (the history of gaming)
Once the branding and illustration toolkit was complete we started to apply the master style onto various other items e.g. business cards, newsletter template, social media campaign template, packaging graphics and stickers and others.
Inspiring The Best Gamers of Tomorrow
The other large part of the project involved UI/UX design for the ecommerce website update, including information architecture via wireframe mockups. Also an extensive English & Japanese typography guideline was included. The design was implemented into the Shopify ecommerce platform by a third party. We further provided a post-implementation design review with detailed reports for improvements (currently still ongoing).

UI & UX Design
Bento Graphics brought to life our new brand identity and turned our ideas into concrete set of visuals. We were extremely impressed with how Bento Graphics was able to apply the new brand identity to the UI design, and thus we are able to build a cohesive brand image. Bento Graphics is exceptionally easy and fun to work with, and communication flowed easily at all times.
